Carpenters Health Information
The Trustees of the Health and Welfare Fund have taken action to save the fund AND the members money by utilizing MSBCBS as our PPO (preferred provider organization) network. We're sure that you will all have questions about this change but we would like to let you know a few key facts. Also, below is a link to a letter from District Manager Mark Estlack that will help explain the move. As always, the Trustees are making every effort in providing the members with the best service they can find. Please be patient while this change takes place.
You WILL NOT lose any of your credits from the Continued Eligibility Fund .
- There will be little change in benefits (some may be better)
- Any funds directed toward your current deductible will transfer
- The VISION is a discount, not a benefit

OSHA training required
Many job site location are requiring OSHA 10 training before a member is eligible for hire. It is up to you to make sure that you have this training class. These classes are given regularly at your area Labor Education and Development offices (see contacts page). Or contact your Local union to find out when the next scheduled class is to be given.
